Memorial Hermann Health System is committed to providing services in full compliance with all applicable laws, regulations and guidelines, as well as its own policies and procedures. All Memorial Hermann employees, contractors, and agents are expected to abide by the laws and regulations affecting the delivery of health care services and the expectations set out by the MHHS Corporate Compliance Program, including, but not limited to:
- Adhering to the MHHS Standards of Conduct and policies and procedures.
- Completing all required compliance education and training.
- Promptly reporting compliance concerns or violations management, the Compliance Helpline, or the Chief Compliance Officer.
Memorial Hermann is particularly sensitive to requirements applicable to federal and state healthcare programs and the submission of accurate bills for all services provided. In accordance with the requirements of the Deficit Reduction Act of 2005, Memorial Hermann has implemented a False Claims Policy, which articulates the organization’s commitment to comply with all applicable fraud and abuse laws and regulations. This policy supports efforts by federal and state authorities to identify incidents of fraud and/or abuse and includes procedures for preventing, detecting, reporting, and correcting incidents of fraud and/or abuse. Memorial Hermann contractors and agents must comply with the Memorial Hermann False Claims Policy. Any contractor or agent who feels they are unable to comply with these requirements should contact Charles Bumpass, Chief Compliance Officer at 713-338-4113, 713-338-4307 (fax), or Charles.Bumpass@memorialhermann.org.
