leaders campaign to establish a Baptist hospital in Houston.
Reverend Dennis Pevoto reportedly confers with George H. Hermann,
who had an interest in creating a charity hospital. |

Baptist
leaders purchase Rudisell Sanitarium and its equipment for $1,000
cash and $17,000 debt. Rev. Pevoto becomes superintendent of
new Baptist Sanitarium and Mrs. Rudisell continues as superintendent
of nurses. Training school for nurses, the first chartered school
of nursing in Houston, opens immediately. |
