Live webinar: Vocal Cords and Hoarseness
Many people have experienced hoarseness in their voice, which results in an abnormally deep, harsh voice, and may result in a complete loss of one’s voice. Hoarseness is generally caused by an irritation of, or injury to, the vocal cords.
Join Dr. Ronda Alexander, director of the Texas Voice Performance Institute, to learn ways to prevent irritation of the vocal cords along with tips on how to heal a hoarse throat.
Dr. Alexander is an assistant professor of Otorhinolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery at The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UTHealth) Medical School. Her specialty interests include evaluation of hoarseness, management of the injured voice, spasmodic dysphonia and vocal tremor, and vocal fold paralysis and weakness.
