Longitudinal Clinical Experiential Program
The Longitudinal Clinical Experiential Program at Memorial Hermann-Texas Medical Center is intended to provide a structured training program for Doctor of Pharmacy students during their Advanced Pharmacy Practice Experiences (APPE) in order to prepare students for post-graduate residency training and a career as a clinical pharmacist.
Students will complete a minimum of 5 of 7 required APPEs at Memorial Hermann-Texas Medical Center. In addition, students will be required to complete a set of longitudinal experiences which will take place throughout the year.
The following APPEs are required to be completed at Memorial Hermann Texas Medical Center, except as noted:
- Advanced Hospital Pharmacy
- Medicine APPE
- Critical Care APPE
- Ambulatory Care APPE
- Pediatrics APPE
- Advanced Community Pharmacy*
- Elective Clinical APPE†
* The Advanced Community Pharmacy APPE will be completed outside of Memorial Hermann-Texas Medical Center and will be assigned by the student’s college of pharmacy.
† Students may choose to do an Elective Clinical APPE either at Memorial Hermann-Texas Medical Center or at an outside facility. An Elective Clinical APPE done at an outside facility will be assigned by the student’s college of pharmacy.
Application Process
The application deadline is October 19th.
Application to the Longitudinal Clinical Experiential Program is currently open to students from the University of Houston College of Pharmacy only.
Applicants considered for a position will be invited for an on-site interview at Memorial Hermann-Texas Medical Center during October or November. Applicants will be given a tour of the facilities and will have a chance to meet with members of the clinical pharmacy staff as well as the current LCEP students.

- Curriculum Vitae
- Have two Letters of Recommendation submitted on your behalf
- Submit your current, official transcript of pharmacy school coursework / clerkships
- Transcripts should be sent directly from the school or mailed by the applicant in an envelope sealed by the school.
