This two or three day course is designed to provide participants with an introduction to the Neuro-IFRAH® principles of management and a practical application of these principles to increase function. Participants will be able to apply the information learned in a variety of treatment settings including acute care, inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation, home care, and skilled nursing facilities.
This course will consist of interactive lecture and hands on lab. Lab sessions
will emphasize the development of patient handling skills through working with
other participants. Information will be shared by lecture, lab and possibly
using video or other visual aids.
Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:
- Identify the basic principles of management of the Neuro-IFRAH® approach.
- Identify handling guidelines related to the Neuro-IFRAH® approach.
- Identify concepts related to the framework for normal movement.
- Differentiate between normal and abnormal movement in function.
- Identify the missing components of movement that are interfering with patients’ abilities to function at a higher level.
- Apply handling techniques to help attain the missing components of movement that are interfering with functioning at higher levels.
- Integrate concepts related to normal movement, principles of management, handling guidelines, and handling techniques into ADLs and other functional activities.
Upon successful completion of the course, participants will be Neuro-IFRAH Trained®.

Lisa Hartman, PT, MS, NCS, Neuro-IFRAH Instructor® received her degree in Physical Therapy from Grand Valley State University in 2004. She is a certified Neuro-IFRAH Instructor® and has been mentored by Waleed Al-Oboudi, MOT, OTR, the author of the Neuro-IFRAH® approach since 2006. Lisa also received Neurologic Clinical Specialist board-certification in 2011. She has worked in inpatient rehabilitation, day rehabilitation, and private home health specializing in the treatment of adults with stroke or brain injury. Lisa is currently employed at TIRR Memorial Hermann.

Tuition is $400.00 and covers full materials. Tuition is due at the time of registration.
“All fees will be refunded except for a $50 administrative charge if written notice of withdrawal is received 14 days prior to course start date. No refunds will be granted after this date. Cancellation by the sponsor/Instructor will result in a full refund of the tuition. Sponsor/Instructor is not responsible for additional expenses incurred by registrants. Successful completion of this course will result in up to 1.4 CEU’s and/or 14 contact hours with the AOTA. The assignment of AOTA CEU’s does not imply endorsement of specific course content, products or clinical procedures by the AOTA. TPTA CCUs are pending ( 14 CCUs, 1.4 CEUs, 14 contact hours)
