Dr. Robert Burress graduated with an undergraduate degree in chemical science from Florida State University in Tallahassee and earned his medical degree from the University of South Florida in Tampa. He completed his internship and residency in internal medicine at East Carolina University and served as an internist in the U.S. Air Force, where he earned the Air Force Commendation Medal for Meritorious Service. While in the military, he completed a fellowship in pulmonary diseases and critical care medicine at Wilford Hall Medical Center in San Antonio.
Prior to moving to Texas, Dr. Burress practiced pulmonary and critical care medicine for six years at the West Florida Medical Center Clinic and trained in allergy and immunology at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee.
Dr. Burress is board certified in allergy-immunology and internal medicine. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology and the American College of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology.
Dr. Burress’ training in pulmonology, allergy and immunology brings his patients a depth of knowledge regarding asthma and respiratory diseases. He believes that forming a partnership with patients is the key to a successful treatment regimen.
