Dr. Ricardo Bonnor, MD

Dr. Ricardo M. Bonnor earned his medical degree, with highest honors, from The University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston. He completed his surgical residency at The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas followed by his fellowship in advanced gastrointestinal laparoscopy and bariatric surgery at Duke University Medical Center in Durham, North Carolina.

Board certified in general surgery, Dr. Bonnor has clinical interests that include bariatric surgery, esophageal hernias, heartburn surgery, hiatal hernias, reflux surgery, robotic assisted surgery, single incision surgery, weight loss surgery and weight loss surgery revisions. He specializes in general and advanced laparoscopic surgery.

Dr. Bonnor customizes surgical plans to meet the needs of each patient. His offers minimally invasive procedures to help patients recover quickly and reduce the level of postoperative pain. Dr. Bonnor treats patients 18 years and older.

Dr. Bonnor has published numerous articles and book chapters on topics such as biliary tract disease, colon cancer, hernias and reflux surgery. He has proctored many surgeons in various laparoscopic techniques including weight loss surgery and is a Fellow of both the American College of Surgeons and American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery.
