Dr. Ramesh Hariharan graduated from Kilpauk Medical College in Chennai, India, with a Bachelor of Medicine and a Bachelor of Surgery. He went on to obtain his Doctor of Medicine at Jawaharal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research in Pondicherry, India. After receiving specialized cardiology training as a cardiology registrar at St. Thomas’ Hospital in London, England, and St. James’s University Hospital in Leeds, England, he came to the McGovern Medical School at UTHealth in Houston, where he completed his internal medicine residency. He finished his fellowships in cardiovascular disease and cardiac electrophysiology at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston.
Board certified in internal medicine, cardiovascular disease and clinical cardiac electrophysiology, Dr. Hariharan specializes in clinical cardiac electrophysiology. Currently, Dr. Hariharan is the medical director of Cardiac Electrophysiology at Memorial Hermann-Texas Medical Center and is a professor of cardiovascular medicine and the chief of the Cardiac Electrophysiology Section at UTHealth. He also speaks French, Hindi, Malayalam and Tamil.
