Dr. Chris Chen earned his medical degree and completed his doctorate degree in molecular tumor biology at Xiangya School of Medicine Central South University, formerly Hunan Medical University, in China. He completed his residency in internal medicine at Texas Tech Health Science Center in Lubbock, where he served as Chief Resident. He then completed fellowships in cardiology at The University of Texas at Houston (UTHealth) Medical School and the University of California at Los Angeles.
Board certified in internal medicine, cardiovascular disease, nuclear cardiology and echocardiography, Dr. Chen has practiced medicine since 1975. His clinical interests include aortic aneurysms, arrhythmias, cardiovascular disease, congestive heart failure, coronary artery disease, electrodiagnostic medicine, invasive cardiology, ischemic heart disease, lipid disorders, mitral valve disease, mitral valve prolapse, myocardial infarction, pacemakers and peripheral vascular disease.
Dr. Chen sees patients 18 years and older and speaks Mandarin. He believes in treating each patient the way he would like to be treated and as if they were family members.
Residents of Sugar Land, Dr. Chen and his wife have three children. He’s an avid runner and enjoys exercising, reading and writing poetry.
