Dr. Ira Lieber, MD

Dr. Ira H. Lieber received his medical degree from Drexel University College of Medicine in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and completed his internship and residency at McGovern Medical School at UTHealth in Houston. This was followed by a cardiology research fellowship at The University of California Los Angeles Cedars-Sinai Medical Center and a clinical fellowship at the University of California at Irvine.

Board certified in internal medicine, cardiovascular disease and interventional cardiology, Dr. Lieber has been in practice since 1992. His clinical interests include chest pain syndrome, coronary artery detection, heart attack treatments, nuclear cardiology, echo cardiography, peripheral vascular disease, coronary stenting, congestive heart failure, arrhythmias and vein disease.

Dr. Lieber focus is on prevention, early detection and management of heart disease as well as risk factor control of hypertension and cholesterol. Dr. Lieber treats patients 18 years and older.

A member of the national board of medical examiners and American College of Cardiology, Dr. Lieber has served as a clinical assistant professor at McGovern Medical School. He is actively involved in cardiovascular research on topics such as cholesterol, diabetes, heart failure, atrial fibrillation and heart attack.

Away from the clinic, Dr. Lieber enjoys playing golf, exercising and traveling.
