Dr. Nilay Mehta, who grew up in the Lake Houston area, earned his medical degree at Midwestern University Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine. He completed his residency in internal medicine at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, where he was named Internal Medicine Ambulatory Resident of the Year, followed by a fellowship in cardiology at The University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston.

Dr. Mehta, who is board certified in cardiology, has been in practice since 2008. He specializes in internal medicine, cardiovascular diseases, cardiology and heart and vascular services. Dr. Mehta has conducted and published research on myocardial infarction and nuclear cardiology. Since 2020 he has been recognized by Houstonia magazine as one of the area’s outstanding cardiologists.
