Dr. Nisheeth Goel, MD

Dr. Nisheeth Goel, who grew up in Jackson, Miss., earned his undergraduate degree in electrical engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology and his medical degree from the University of Mississippi in Jackson. He completed his residency in internal medicine at the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine in Rochester, Minn., followed by fellowships in general cardiology and interventional cardiology at Texas Heart Institute in Houston, where he was the chief interventional fellow.

In practice since 2001, Dr. Goel is board certified in three areas: cardiovascular disease, interventional cardiology and nuclear cardiology. He specializes in coronary and peripheral vascular interventions. His other interests include valvular heart disease, structural heart disease and preventative cardiology.

His patients rate Dr. Goel very highly, describing him as accessible, thorough, knowledgeable, patient and kind.  They say he is a pleasure to talk to and has great interactions with patients.

Dr. Goel has been involved in clinical research, made presentations at several national meetings and published articles in the field of cardiology.
