Dr. Ramon Ty Jr, MD

Dr. Ramon Ty earned his medical degree from the University of The Philippines. He completed his residency at the University of Pittsburg's Montefiore Hospital and his fellowship in cardiology at the Texas Heart Institute at St. Luke's Hospital in Houston.

Board certified in cardiology and internal medicine, Dr. Ty treats patients 18 and older. He and his staff members speak Spanish, Vietnamese, Chinese and Tagalog. He is a member of the Texas Heart Institute Cardiac Society and has served as cardiology section chief at Memorial Hermann Southwest.

Dr. Ty's primary clinical interests are interventional cardiology and treating diabetic patients – with whom he has a special connection because both of his parents are diabetic. He genuinely cares for his patients and treats them like family. He takes time not only to listen to his patients, but also to share humor with them, something he believes keeps life from becoming boring. His practice strives to respond to urgent issues within 24-48 hours.

A resident of the Sugar Land area, Dr. Ty is the father of three grown daughters. In his leisure time, he enjoys basketball, watching movies and playing the piano.
