What Does An ER Doctor Do?
An emergency room doctor is a physician who treats patients admitted in the emergency department due to any reason ranging from trauma, sudden chest pain, severe vomiting, loss of consciousness, etc. Once the patient is brought to the ER room they immediately assess the patient's condition and after stabilizing the patient medically, start corrective treatment. The ER physician can also order laboratory tests and investigations for further diagnosis and treatment when needed. They arrange for the patient to be referred to a specialist when required.
All our ER doctors are board certified or board eligible in emergency medicine and have successfully completed their fellowship in emergency medicine following internal medicine residency and medical school training.
