Dr. Alysia Bedgood is a Primary Care sports medicine physician and Assistant Professor in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at The University of Texas Medical School at Houston. She grew up in Austin and completed undergrad at The University of Texas at Austin. She then attended medical school at The University of Texas Medical School at Houston, completed her residency in Family Medicine at Memorial Family Medicine in Houston and was accepted into and completed a fellowship in Sports Medicine at The Methodist Center for Sports Medicine and Orthopaedic Surgery in Houston.
Dr. Bedgood focuses on full care of the athlete from the common cold and health maintenance to non-operative management of injuries, injury prevention and helping patients get started on active lifestyle. She has a particular interest in women’s health in addition to sports medicine.
Dr. Bedgood provides coverage for HBU, Westbury Christian School, St. Thomas Episcopal School and Sugar Land Imperials.
In her free time, Dr. Bedgood prefers to stay active with running, biking, kayaking, yoga and any outdoor activity. She splits her time between providing coverage for local events such as the Houston Marathon, Texas IRONMAN, and HBU athletics and participating in Texas marathons, half marathons and sprint triathlons.
