Dr. Bauer received both his master’s degree and Ph.D. in psychology from the University of California San Diego and earned his medical degree from Rutgers Medical School. He completed his residency at the Northridge Family Practice Residency Program in Northridge, California. He is board certified in family medicine and is a fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians. Dr. Bauer currently serves as the program director of the Memorial Family Medicine Residency.
Dr. Bauer provides comprehensive care for entire families from newborns to grandparents. He firmly believes in working with patients to ensure their quality of life is as rich as possible, whether it’s by staying healthy through good nutrition and an active lifestyle, returning to health after an acute problem, or optimally managing a chronic condition.
An active listener, Dr. Bauer works to involve his patients in their care by helping them clearly understand their conditions and their treatment options, and then working with them to arrive at an ideal treatment plan. Dr. Bauer cares for the whole person and believes in addressing all aspects of health and life. This involves an understanding of who each patient is – the emotional, spiritual and physical.
In his spare time, Dr. Bauer enjoys building furniture. He also stays active by riding his bike to work. As an amateur magician and avid problem-solver, he relishes the idea that sometimes things that don’t seem possible are, in fact, possible.
Dr. Bauer practices at Memorial Hermann Physicians at Sugar Creek.
