Dr. John Vanderzyl, MD

A native Houstonian, Dr. John Vanderzyl attended Strake Jesuit College Preparatory High School and received his undergraduate degree from Texas A&M University. He earned his medical degree from The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UTHealth) Medical School. Dr. Vanderzyl then completed his residency training in family practice medicine at Memorial Hermann Southwest Hospital, where he served as chief resident.

Board certified in family medicine, Dr. Vanderzyl has been in private practice in the Houston area since 1993. He cares for patients of all ages and focuses on preventive medicine and education.

Dr. Vanderzyl was named as one of  the "Top Doctors in America" in a survey of physicians who were asked which doctor they would recommend for their families. He is a member of numerous professional organizations and supports several charitable organizations.

Away from the clinic, Dr. Vanderzyl enjoys spending time with his wife and daughters. He also strives to keep a healthy lifestyle that includes running, golf, and fishing.
