Dr. Franz Schneider earned his undergraduate degree at the Universidad del Valle de Guatemala and his medical degree at the Universidad Francisco Marroquein in Guatemala City. He completed his internship and residency in internal medicine at New Britain General Hospital- University of Connecticut and his fellowship in gastroenterology, hepatology and therapeutic endoscopy at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston.
Dr. Schneider has been in practice since 1985. He is board certified in gastroenterology and internal medicine and speaks Spanish. He is a member of the American College of Physicians and the American Gastroenterological Association. His primary clinical interests are colon-related conditions, colon cancer, Crohn's disease, hepatitis/hepatitis C, rectal bleeding, liver biopsy and endoscopy.Son of a gastroenterologist, Dr. Schneider grew up with an innate desire to help people in a meaningful way, as his father had. He treats his patients with honesty, kindness and respect, in a manner that is realistic and down-to-earth. He believes that people deserve both compassion and excellent care, a goal he strives for every day.
