Dr. Steven Aruba, MD

Dr. Steven Ugbarugba earned his medical degree at the University of Benin School of Medicine in Nigeria. He did completed his internship and residency at Morehouse School of Medicine in Atlanta, where he was named Best Resident in 1999. He completed a fellowship in gastroenterology at the State University of New York in Brooklyn.

Board certified in gastroenterology, Dr. Ugbarugba has been in practice since 2000 and treats patients 18 years and older. In his practice, he performs colonoscopy screenings to identify disease in early stages and cares for patients with liver and digestive diseases including gall bladder disease. He also treats irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), ulcerative colitis, constipation, acid reflux disease (GERD) and hemorrhoids. His primary clinical interests are colon cancer, hepatitis C and hepatobiliary disease. Dr. Ugbarugba is noted for his compassionate, empathetic and holistic approach to total care, as well as for his thoroughness in evaluating each patient.

Married and a resident of Houston, Dr. Ugbarugba enjoys soccer, ping pong and reading in his leisure time.
