Dr. Sumanth Daram, MD

Sumanth Reddy Daram, MD, FACP, earned his medical degree at Osmania Medical College in Hyderabad, India. He then completed his residency at Saint Louis University (SLU) School of Medicine in Missouri.

Before completing his fellowship training, Dr. Daram served as the Medical Director for the academic hospitalist program at Wheaton Franciscan – St. Joseph Campus in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Dr. Daram then trained in gastroenterology and hepatology as part of a fellowship program at the University of Mississippi School of Medicine in Jackson. He went on to complete a fellowship in pancreato-biliary disorders and advanced therapeutic endoscopy at the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine in Chicago.

Double board certified in gastroenterology by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM), Dr. Daram specializes in pancreato-biliary disorders, gastrointestinal (GI) oncology, endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP), endoscopic ultrasound (EUS), enteral stents, device-assisted endoscopy (DAE) (balloon-assisted endoscopy) endoscopic mucosal resection (EMR), and radiofrequency ablation (RFA, ablative therapy) for Barrett’s esophagus (BE, Barret’s syndrome). In addition, he offers general endoscopic procedures and general gastrointestinal (GI) care.

His clinical research interests are in the field of endoscopic ultrasound (EUS), endoscopic outcomes, and web-based medical education and training, including the use of videos in imparting endoscopic training. He is passionate about producing educational endoscopic videos and DVDs.

Dr. Daram has presented at various national and international meetings including the Healthcare Convention and Exhibitors Association’s (HCEA) Digestive Disease Week® (DDW). And, he has published over 40 peer-reviewed articles and book chapters, in addition to scientific abstracts.

Dr. Daram is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians (ACP), and is a member of the American College of Gastroenterology (ACG), the American Gastroenterological Association (AGA) and the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ASGE).
