Dr. Turnquest earned his medical degree from the University of South Florida College of Medicine in Tampa. He completed his residency and fellowship at McGovern Medical School at UTHealth in Houston.

Board certified in general and bariatric surgery, Dr. Turnquest has practiced in the Northwest Houston area since 1996. His clinical interest is in bariatric surgery and he performs the gastric sleeve, gastric bypass and lap band bariatric procedures.

Dr. Turnquest is known for his dedication to his patients and excellent surgical skills. His office staff speak Spanish.

Dr. Turnquest currently serves on the Executive Board of the Harris County Medical Society and chairs the Harris County Medical Society Council of Hospital Chiefs of Staff. He is a Fellow of the American Society of Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery, and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons.

A recipient of numerous recognitions and awards, Dr. Turnquest has been featured in Texas Monthly’s annual “Super Doctors” issue, H-Texas Magazine’s “Top Doctors in Houston” publication, Health & Fitness magazine and Newsweek.
