Dr. Kelly Birt, MD

Dr. Kelly Birt, a graduate of Bellaire High School in Houston, earned her undergraduate degree at Texas Christian University and her medical degree at Texas Tech University Health Science Center. She completed her internship and residency in general surgery at The University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston.

In practice since 2011, Dr. Birt is board certified in general surgery and treats patients 16 years and older. Her primary clinical interests are benign and malignant breast diseases and women’s health. She is a member of the American College of Surgeons, Texas Medical Association and Harris County Medical Society.

Dr. Birt establishes long-term relationships with her patients in a down-to-earth practice. She tells them she wants to help them through the hard part to a point where they can just come to the office for screenings and social visits. Her goal: to provide advanced surgical care with a touch of southern hospitality to all her patients.

When she isn't in her office or the surgical suite, Dr. Birt can be found traveling to college football games, attending local plays with her husband, or cheering on her two sons at their baseball games. She lives in the Heights.
