Richard Englehardt earned his medical degree at the University of Iowa’s
Carver College of Medicine in Iowa City and completed a general surgery
residency at Providence Hospital and Medical Centers in Southfield, Michigan, where
he served as chief administrative resident. He also completed an advanced fellowship
at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UTHealth)
Medical School/Bariatric Medical Institute of Texas in San Antonio.
certified in general surgery, Dr. Englehardt has been awarded advanced
fellowship recognition by the American Society of Bariatric and Metabolic
Surgery. His clinical interests include weight loss surgery, advanced
laparoscopic surgery and general surgery for patients 18 and older. He serves
as clinical instructor of surgery at the UTHealth Medical School and was
recognized among 2014’s Top Doctors of San Antonio by San Antonio Scene.
