Dr. Said Hassan earned his medical degree at Baghdad College of Medicine in Iraq. He completed his internship at Jordan University Hospital in Amman, Jordan, his residency in general surgery at UT Health San Antonio Medical School and a fellowship at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston.
In practice since 2006, Dr. Hassan is board certified in surgery and a fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He treats patients 8 years and older and speaks Spanish and Arabic.
Dr. Hassan performs general, advanced laparoscopic and robotic surgery. His special interests are thyroid and parathyroid surgeries; anti-reflux procedures; repair of hiatal, ventral, umbilical, inguinal and spigelian hernias; complex ventral hernia repair; surgeries of the stomach, small intestine and large intestine/colon; splenectomy; biopsies for benign and malignant tumors of skin and soft tissue; breast surgery; adrenalectomy; and lymph node biopsy and dissection.
Dr. Hassan provides individualized treatment based on each patient’s needs. His patients give him top marks for professionalism, including his explanation of conditions and treatments, willingness to take time to answer questions and follow-up.
A resident of The Woodlands, Dr. Hassan is married and the father of two young children. His favorite leisure activities are playing basketball, biking and swimming.
