Dr. Michael Bebbington is a board certified, fellowship-trained maternal-fetal medicine specialist with expertise in open fetal surgery and fetoscopic-based fetal interventions. Dr. Bebbington received his medical degree from McMaster University in Ontario, Canada, and a master of health science degree from the University of British Columbia in Vancouver. He completed his residency training at McMaster University and fellowships in Maternal-Fetal Medicine at the University of British Columbia and the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York.

Prior to joining Children's Memorial Hermann Hospital and UTHealth Medical School in 2012, Dr. Bebbington was an associate professor of clinical surgery at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania and an attending physician at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, where he also served as the director of fellowship training at the Center for Fetal Diagnosis and Treatment. He also previously served as the director of the Women's Diagnostic Imaging Center at Albert Einstein College of Medicine and as medical director of the division of diagnostic ultrasound at British Columbia Women's Hospital in Vancouver.

Dr. Bebbington was nominated for the University of British Columbia Killam Prize for Teaching and received the Award for Excellence in Teaching from the Professional Association of Residents of British Columbia. He is a member of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, the Society for Maternal Fetal Medicine, the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and the International Society of Ultrasound in Obstetrics and Gynecology. He sits on the editorial board for the Ultrasound and Obstetrics & Gynecology and is a reviewer for the American Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Fetal Diagnosis and Therapy and Prenatal Diagnosis.
