Dr. Erik Maus earned his medical
degree at the Facultad Mexicana de Medicina, Universidad
La Salle, in Mexico City. He completed a residency in internal
medicine and a fellowship in undersea and hyperbaric medicine at the University
of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UTHealth) Medical School.
certified in internal medicine, Dr. Maus specializes in internal medicine, undersea
and hyperbaric medicine, and wound healing. His clinical interests include limb
salvage, chronic skin ulcers and wounds, diseases of the lymphatic and venous
systems, and diving medicine. He serves as assistant professor in
the department of Anesthesiology at the UTHealth Medical School.
In practice since 1997, Dr. Maus treats all
ages and speaks Spanish and German.
Maus’ practice philosophy centers on treating his patients in the way he
would like to be treated. He has a strong interest in diagnosis for specific
treatment, rather than treatment of the symptom alone. His patients appreciate
his experience, persistence and ability to listen.
resident of West University, Dr. Maus is married and the father of four
children. His favorite leisure
activities are classical music and literature.
