Shan Guo, MD, earned her medical degree from Xiangya School of Medicine at Central South University, formally Hunan Medical University, in Changsha, China. She then moved to Philadelphia and completed her postdoctoral research fellowship at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Guo trained in internal medicine during her residency with the University of Connecticut School of Medicine at St. Vincent's Medical Center in Bridgeport. Then she went on to complete hematology and oncology fellowships at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston.
Board certified in medical oncology, hematology and internal medicine, Dr. Guo treats adults with various types of cancer and hematological conditions. For Dr. Guo, the patient is always right. Known for her willingness to work with patients and their families, she practices with a multidisciplinary team to deliver compassionate, understanding care.
Dr. Guo is a member of the Harris County Medical Society (HCMS), the American Society of Oncology (ASO), the Chinese American Doctors Association of Houston (CADAH) and the Texas Medical Association (TMA). In 2010, she was honored with the National Comprehensive Cancer Network (NCCN) Fellows Award.
