Dr. Andres Vasquez Donado earned his medical degree from the Universidad del Norte in Barranquilla, Colombia. He completed his internship, residency and cardiology fellowship at the McGovern Medical School at UTHealth in Houston. He completed his interventional cardiology fellowship at the Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis.
Board certified in internal medicine, cardiovascular medicine, interventional cardiology, echocardiography, nuclear cardiology and vascular imaging and venous disease, Dr. Vasquez Donado treats adult patients ages 18 and older. Since 2004, Dr. Vasquez Donado has cared for patients with aortic aneurysms, arrhythmias (irregular heartbeat), atrial septal defects (ASD or patent foramen ovale or PFO), carotid artery disease, coronary artery disease (CAD or atherosclerosis), peripheral arterial disease, valvular heart disease and venous and lymphatic disorders. He speaks English and Spanish.

Throughout his career, Dr. Vasquez Donado has been honored with numerous awards and recognitions. In 2013, he was named Chief Fellow for McGovern Medical School’s Department of Cardiology and was recognized with the school’s Outstanding Research Award. He was also named a Fellow of American College of Cardiology (FACC).
In his spare time, Dr. Vasquez Donado enjoys playing tennis, soccer and musical instruments, including the keyboard, drums and guitar. Most importantly, he loves spending time with his wife, daughter and son.
