Biography

Dr. Razvan Dadu earned his medical degree at the Iuliu Hatieganu University of Medicine and Pharmacy in Cluj, Romania, and did his residency in internal medicine at the Yale University-Bridgeport Hospital in Bridgeport, Conn. He completed fellowship training in preventive cardiology (focused on atherosclerosis and complex lipid problems), cardiovascular disease and interventional cardiology at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, where he served as chief fellow in interventional cardiology. Dr. Dadu also completed an additional one-year fellowship in structural heart disease at Methodist Hospital’s DeBakey Heart and Vascular Institute in Houston, during which he trained in delivering transcatheter therapies for valvular heart problems, including TAVRs (transcatheter aortic valve replacements), mitral clips, paravalvular leak closures, PFO (Patent Foramen Ovale) closures and Watchman devices.

Board certified in internal medicine, echocardiography, clinical lipidology, cardiovascular disease and interventional cardiology, Dr. Dadu has primary clinical interests in transcatheter treatment of valvular heart disease, percutaneous coronary interventions, and cardiovascular disease treatment and prevention. He treats adult patients (18 and older) and speaks Romanian.

Dr. Dadu has received several awards, including Outstanding Scholarly Activities at Yale University-Bridgeport Hospital, Best Research Award at Baylor, and Advanced Fellow Overall Excellence Award at Methodist DeBakey Heart and Vascular Institute. A Fellow in the American College of Cardiology, he has also developed original research in cardiovascular disease that has been presented at national meetings and published in numerous medical journals.

Dr. Dadu pairs listening to each patient's individual needs with care and compassion for his patients, who, in turn, value his attentive bedside manner. His practice focuses on transcatheter therapies for valvular heart disease, radial approaches for percutaneous coronary interventions, cardiovascular disease prevention, and treatment of complex lipid problems.

Dr. Dadu, who lives in Houston, is married and a father. Outside of his practice, he enjoys sports and spending time with his family.
