What Do Laryngologists Do?
Laryngologists are physicians specialized in diagnosing and treating diseases of the larynx, commonly called the voice box. They detect and treat disorders like infections, vocal cord nodules, cysts, vocal cord paralysis, cancer of the larynx and voice disorders resulting from misuse and overuse in professionals like teachers.
Laryngology is a subspecialty of otolaryngology, an area of medicine that treats the ears, nose, and throat. Both otolaryngologists and laryngologists are often referred to as ENT (ear, nose, and throat) doctors. All laryngologists on our panel are board-certified or board-eligible physicians and have completed a residency in ENT (ear, nose and throat) and received advanced training in laryngology following completion of medical school.
