Jafri Syed earned his medical degree from the Aga Khan University Medical School in Pakistan. He completed
his residency at Indiana University and fellowships in hematology/oncology at Louisiana
State University and integrative medicine at the University of Arizona.
Board certified in internal
medicine, hematology and medical oncology, Dr. Syed’s clinical interests
include lung cancer, thymoma, mesothelioma and esophageal cancer, head and neck
cancer and salivary gland cancer.
His practice philosophy embraces whole-person
medicine: to treat mind, body and soul. He feels it is important to educate
patients about their illness, explain the benefits and risks of treatment,
provide evidence-based treatment using the latest scientific knowledge, empower
patients to take charge of their well-being, and improve their health -- not just treat their disease.
A resident of Harris County, Dr.
Syed is married and the father of one young child. In his leisure time, he enjoys reading,
spending time with this family and traveling.
