Dr. Ariel Velasco, MD

Dr. Ariel Velasco earned his medical degree at Far Eastern University in Manila, Philippines. He completed a residency at the Catholic Medical Center in Jamaica, New York, and a fellowship in nephrology at The University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston.

Dr. Velasco, who is board certified in nephrology, has been in practice since 1989. His primary clinical interests are kidney diseases, electrolytes and acid-base imbalance, hypertension, hemodialysis, peritoneal dialysis and transplant. He is a member of the Harris County Medical Society, Renal Physicians Association, American Society of Nephrology and Texas Association of Philippine Physicians.

In his practice, Dr. Velasco balances joy and compassion with the goal of offering the very best care, and he considers his patients to be his away-from-home family. His patients rate him very highly, citing his caring and thoroughness as well as their total confidence in his skills and expertise.

In his leisure time, Dr. Velasco enjoys competitive ballroom dancing, cycling and reading mystery novels.
