Dr. Amrou Sarraj is a graduate of Damascus University
Medical School and completed his residency at the University of Texas Health
Science Center at Houston (UTHealth) Medical School, where he also completed fellowships
in neurophysiology and vascular neurology.
Board certified in neurology, Dr. Sarraj’s major clinical interest is
treatment of strokes. He received the Mordecai Y.T. Globus New Investigator
Award in Stroke for “Optimizing Prediction Scores for Poor Outcome after
Intra-arterial Therapy for Anterior Circulation Acute Ischemic Stroke,” and has
been invited as a speaker for national and international stroke meetings. In practice in Houston since 2006, he treats
patients 18 years and older and speaks Arabic.
Dr. Sarraj’s goal is to improve
patients and see them back to normal after suffering a devastating disease such
as a stroke. Known for his passion for patient care and thorough approach, he
goes above and beyond to treat his patients like family and ensure they receive
the best care possible.
A Houston resident, Dr. Sarraj
is married and the father of two daughters.
He loves sports, especially football.
