Dr. Randall Wright is a board-certified neurologist with
expertise in clinical neurophysiology, including sleep medicine,
electroencephalography, electromyography, evoked potential testing and
intra-operative monitoring. He is a diplomate of the American Board of Sleep
Medicine and the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.
After receiving his
medical degree at Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta, Georgia, Dr.
Wright completed his internship at Louisiana State University/University
Medical Center in Lafayette, Louisiana. He completed his residency in neurology
and a fellowship in clinical neurophysiology at Baylor College of Medicine in
Houston, where he received several prestigious honors recognizing his
outstanding academic performance.
Prior to joining
Mischer Neuroscience Associates, he was medical director of the Stroke Unit at
HealthSouth Rehabilitation Hospital The Woodlands and medical director of the
Conroe Regional Medical Center Neurovascular Stroke Center in Conroe, Texas. He
was chief of neurology at Conroe Regional Medical Center from 2007 to 2009 and
assistant director of the Conroe Regional Medical Center Epilepsy Monitoring
Dr. Wright has
lectured widely, published numerous articles and is the contributing author of chapters
on radiculopathies and myelopathies in the third, fourth and fifth editions of Neurology
Secrets. He is the lead author of The Wright Choice: Your Family’s
Prescription for Healthy Living, Modern Fitness, and Saving Money.
He is a member of
the board of directors and chairman of the Stroke Committee for the American
Heart Association (AHA) Southwest Affiliate, and a member of the National
Stroke Advisory Council for the AHA. He was a 2009-2010 Leadership
Houston participant and the 2011 winner of the Frist Humanitarian Award at
Conroe Regional Medical Center.
His special interests include back pain, dementia, epilepsy,
fibromyalgia, headache and stroke.
