After receiving her Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery degrees from Kasturba Medical College, Dr. Shivika Chandra completed her neurology residency at McGovern Medical School at The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UTHealth), where she served as the Chief Resident and subsequently pursued her fellowship training. During her residency she was awarded the Frank Yatsu M.D. Excellence in Residency award in recognition of outstanding performance in clinical neurology and the Senior Resident Teaching Award in recognition of outstanding teaching in clinical neurology.
Board certified in neurology, Dr. Chandra specializes in movement disorders and neurodegenerative diseases. She is affiliated with Memorial Hermann-Texas Medical Center and sees patients at UT Physicians Neurology-Texas Medical Center and UT Physicians Movement Disorders and Neurodegenerative Diseases-Texas Medical Center.
An Assistant Professor in the department of Neurology at McGovern Medical School, Dr. Chandra has presented her research findings at numerous regional and national meetings held by the Texas Neurologic Society, American Association of Neurology (AAN), American Neurologic Association (ANA) and Movement Disorder Society (MDS).
