Neuropathologists are physicians trained in making microscopic diagnosis of the diseases of the brain and the spinal cord by means of the study of a biopsy. The work of the neurophathologist is to aid in the diagnosis of various conditions like brain tumors and neurodegenerative disorders that need pathological confirmation using tissue samples. They treat patients in close association with neurologists and rely on the use of medical technology such as computerized tomography. They may study a biopsy of the skin to analyze nerve fibers of the skin.
All neuropathologists registered on our panel are board-certified or board- eligible physicians who have completed a pathology residency after the general internal medicine residency. Each one has also finished a fellowship in neuropathology after rigorous medical school training.
