After graduating cum laude from Rutgers University in New Brunswick, New Jersey, Dr. Fernholz earned his Ph.D. at the Sackler Institute of Biomedical Sciences at New York University School of Medicine. He subsequently received his medical degree at Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, Rutgers University, in New Brunswick, New Jersey, where he was inducted into Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. During his residency training in neurological surgery at Rutgers University, he completed an enfolded fellowship in spine surgery at the Hospital for Special Surgery and Weill Cornell Department of Orthopedic Surgery in New York City. He was chief resident at Rutgers University.
Dr. Fernholz has been recognized with many academic honors and awards, including induction into the Arnold P. Goldman Humanism Honor Society. He is the co-author of numerous peer-reviewed publications and a chapter in The Dynamic Synapse, published by CRC Press.
Mischer Neuroscience Associates engages referring physicians in the care of their patients, keeping them informed about patient progress throughout the evaluation and treatment process. After a patient’s treatment, referring physicians receive a summary and a plan for follow-up, and physicians affiliated with Mischer Neuroscience Associates encourage continued communication about each patient.
