What Do Nurse Practitioners Do?
Nurse Practitioners are registered nurses specialized in providing primary health care. They can work independently or in collaboration with other doctors, unlike physician assistants who must practice under the supervision of a physician. They are specially trained to take personal medical histories, conduct physical examinations, prescribe investigations, diagnose, and manage all types of patients including providing preventive advice. All nurse practitioners on our panel are board certified or board eligible. Each one has completed the degree of Bachelor of Science in nursing followed by graduation from the Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) program.
