Dr. Alla Kukuyev obtained her medical degree from Northeast Ohio Medical University in Rootstown, Ohio. She completed her residency in ophthalmology at Ohio State University Medical Center/Havener Eye Institute in Columbus. This was followed by her fellowship in uveitis and ocular inflammatory diseases at the University of California Los Angeles/Jules Stein Eye Institute and a fellowship in vitreoretinal surgery and disease at Retina and Vitreous of Texas in Beaumont.
Board certified in ophthalmology, Dr. Kukuyev has practiced medicine in Houston since 2014.
She specializes in treating complicated autoimmune and infectious eye diseases.
Her clinical interests include ocular inflammatory disease, uveitis, pars planitis, retinitis, scleritis, autoimmune disease, retinal detachment, macular holes, diabetic retinopathy and macular pucker.
Dr. Kukuyev strives to ensure that each patient understands their eye condition and treatment options. She encourages each to be an active participant in their healthcare plan. She treats children and adults and speaks Russian.
