Dr. Larry Alexander, MD

A Houston native, Dr. Larry Alexander earned an undergraduate degree in biology with high honors from The University of Texas at Austin and his medical degree from The University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston. He completed his residency in ophthalmology at Louisiana State University Medical Center in New Orleans and a fellowship in anterior segment and oculoplastic surgery at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston.

Board certified in ophthalmology, Dr. Alexander has been in practice since 1982. Along with his private practice, he also served as a clinical instructor with the Ophthalmology Department at Baylor College of Medicine, and for 30 years provided indigent care at the Strawberry Clinic of the Harris County Hospital District in Pasadena. He uses advanced technologies in performing cataract and intraocular lens (IOL) surgery, laser treatment for diabetic retinopathy and glaucoma, and oculoplastic and reconstructive surgery.

Dr. Alexander is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, Houston Ophthalmological Society and the Harris County Medical Society.

Dr. Alexander is married and has four children. An Eagle Scout himself, he serves as an assistant scoutmaster. He also enjoys gardening, welding metal artwork and WaveRunners.
