Dr. Lauren Blieden earned her medical degree at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston. She completed a residency at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston and a glaucoma fellowship at the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute in Miami, Florida.
Board certified in ophthalmology, Dr. Blieden’s major clinical interest is adult and pediatric glaucoma. She joined the faculty of the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UTHealth) Medical School in 2012, where she serves as the medical director of the Clinical Trials Unit. She treats all ages and speaks Spanish.
Dr. Blieden’s practice specializes in treating children with glaucoma as well as complicated adult glaucoma. Because glaucoma is a life-long disease, she strives to educate her patients while she cares for them. In addition to her professional expertise, patients value her honesty and straightforward approach.
