A native of St. Louis, Dr. Louis Verstringhe earned his undergraduate and medical degrees from the University of Missouri-Kansas City, where he was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. During his ophthalmology residency at University Hospitals-Case Medical Center in Cleveland, Ohio, he served as chief resident and organized an international elective at the LV Prasad Eye Institute in Hyderabad, India. He completed a fellowship in cornea and refractive surgery at The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas.

In practice since 2002, Dr. Verstringhe is board certified in ophthalmology. He practices comprehensive ophthalmology including cornea/external disease, refractive surgery, macular degeneration, cataracts, diabetic retinopathy and glaucoma. He is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, Texas Medical Association and Harris County Medical Society.

His patients describe him as very informative, to-the-point and reassuring, and they say he takes care to explain all the possibilities they might encounter in surgery.

Dr. Verstringhe is married and enjoys skiing, running and camping in his leisure time.
