Dr. Mark Vital, MD

Dr. Mark Vital was born in Beaumont and grew up in Littleton, Colo., and Houston. He earned his undergraduate degree at Rice University and his medical degree at The University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in Dallas. He interned at St. Joseph Hospital in Houston before completing his ophthalmology residency at McGovern Medical School at The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UTHealth), followed by a fellowship in cornea and external and infectious disease at Houston Eye Associates.

In practice since 2002, Dr. Vital is board certified in ophthalmology. His primary clinical interests are cataract surgery, corneal disease, corneal surgery and corneal transplant. He performs routine comprehensive eye exams and treats complex ocular issues such as infections, trauma, corneal dystrophies, corneal scars, pterygia, cataracts and other anterior segment problems.

His practice philosophy is to deliver quality, individualized medical and surgical interventions that help preserve and improve ocular and general health. He strives to protect and improve the way his patients see, feel and look.

Dr. Vital is married to a physician and the father of a son and daughter.
