Dr. Mitchell Porias earned his undergraduate degree at the University of Miami in Florida and his medical degree at A.T. Still University’s Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine in Missouri, where he also completed his internship and residency, and taught ophthalmology.

Board certified in ophthalmology. Dr. Porias has been in practice since 1970 and speaks Spanish. He treats conjunctivitis (pink eye), allergic conjunctivitis, eye infections, macular degeneration, cataracts, eye pain, diabetic retinopathy, glaucoma and other vision issues. He also performs routine eye exams and LASIK surgery.

Dr. Porias is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, Houston Ophthalmological Association, American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery and American Osteopathic Association.

Outside of his practice, Dr. Porias contributes his time and expertise to providing medical and surgical treatment for people in underprivileged areas. His mission work has taken him to Mexico, Belize and El Salvador.
