Dr. Richard Yee, MD

Dr. Richard Yee completed his medical degree and residency at the University of Texas Health Science Center-San Antonio, followed by a fellowship at the Medical College of Wisconsin. He has practiced since 1984, first in San Antonio and later in Houston.

Board Certification and Clinical Interests

Board certified in ophthalmology, Dr. Yee’s clinical interests include:

• corneal disease
• cataracts
• refractive surgery
• dry eye difficulties, with expertise in Premium IOL (intraocular lenses), Crystalens and Lasik/Lasek

Dr. Yee treats patients of all ages.

Professional Recognition

His professional recognitions include the Joe M. Green, Jr. Endowed Chair, the American Academy of Ophthalmology Senior Award, and the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery (ASCRS) Award. He has served on the International Meibomian Gland and Dry Eye Diagnosis Committee and the International Surface Ablation Committee.

Care Philosophy

His major priority is to listen to his patients, get to know them, and examine them carefully to arrive at a proper diagnosis. Using cutting-edge technology, up-to-the-minute research, and the knowledge gained in years of clinical experience and research, he partners with his patients to create customized care.  

Outside of his practice, Dr. Yee enjoys working with lenses of a different sort as a photography enthusiast.
