After growing up in Houston, Dr. Sushma Yalamanchili earned undergraduate degrees in biology and Spanish from Union College in Schenectady, New York, and her medical degree from Albany Medical College in Albany, New York. She completed her internship at Albany Medical Center and her ophthalmology residency and neuro-ophthalmology fellowship at the State University of New York Downstate Medical Center in New York City.
Dr. Yalamanchili, who has been in practice since 2000, is board certified in ophthalmology and a fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology. She performs LASIK surgery and treats vision issues including blindness, eye pain, diabetic retinopathy, cataracts, glaucoma and macular degeneration.
Dr. Yalamanchili is deeply committed to patient care and strives to offer the most advanced treatment options for her patients. Her patients regard her very highly, describing her as extremely professional, thorough, caring and understanding.
In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her husband and their two children, as well as cooking, art and travel. She also volunteers at the Kinkaid School, Small Steps Nurturing Center and Bo’s Place.
