Dr. Tom Sun, MD

Dr. Tom Sun was born in Taiwan and grew up in New Jersey. He earned his undergraduate degree in chemical engineering at the Cooper Union School of Engineering in New York City and his medical degree at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey (now part of Rutgers University). He completed his ophthalmology residency in New York at Nassau County Medical Center and Stony Brook University Hospital.

Dr. Sun, who has been in practice in Texas since 1994, is board certified in ophthalmology. He is a comprehensive ophthalmologist who specializes in cataract surgery. He also treats other vision issues including macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy and glaucoma. He belongs to the American Academy of Ophthalmology, Texas Medical Association and Harris County Medical Association.

His guiding philosophy is a simple one: to treat his patients in the way he would want to be treated. His patients rate him very highly, citing his professional expertise, kindness and willingness to answer questions.

Dr. Sun is married and the father of two children. His hobbies include exercise, travel, golf and lifelong learning about medicine, history and philosophy.
