A native Texan, Dr. Carl Cannon graduated summa cum laude from Texas A&M University. He received his medical degree from Texas Tech University School of Medicine in Lubbock and completed his orthopedic residency at Scott & White Memorial Hospital in Temple, Texas. He trained in sports medicine with the team physicians for the Houston Oilers NFL team.
Board certified in orthopedic medicine, Dr. Cannon has been practicing medicine in The Woodlands since 1985. His specialty is sports medicine.
Dr. Cannon has served as Chief of Surgery at Memorial Hermann The Woodlands Hospital, Assistant Clinical Professor of Orthopedic Surgery at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas, and as a clinical consultant for the Shriners Hospital for Children.
A Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons and the American Academy of Disability Evaluating Physicians, Dr. Cannon is also a Diplomat of the American Academy of Pain Management. He is a member of several professional societies, including the Texas Orthopedic Association, Texas Society for Sports Medicine, American College of Sports Medicine, Texas Medical Association and American Medical Association.
