Dr. James Kellam earned his undergraduate and medical degrees from the University of Toronto in Canada. He completed a residency in surgery at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Toronto and a fellowship in orthopedic trauma at the University of Washington in Seattle.

Dr. Kellam, who has been in practice since 1973, is board certified in orthopedic surgery. He specializes in orthopedic trauma with an emphasis on the management of acute traumatic injuries as well as fractures and dislocations of the pelvis and lower extremities. He also treats osteoporosis.

A professor of orthopedic surgery at McGovern Medical School at The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UTHealth), Dr. Kellam has primary research interests in clinical outcomes and the basic science of fracture healing.

Dr. Kellam is a member of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, the American Association for Surgery of Trauma and the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.
