Dr. Juan Carlos Bustos earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor and his medical degree from Wayne State University in Detroit. He completed his internship and residency at the University of Cincinnati and a fellowship at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore.
Dr. Bustos, who is board certified in orthopedics and sports medicine, has been in practice in Houston since 2006. His primary interests are sports medicine, particularly injuries of the knee and shoulder; fractures; and general orthopedics, including prevention, diagnosis and treatment of disorders of the bones, joints, ligaments, tendons and muscles. He speaks Spanish and treats patients between the ages of nine and 65.
Dr. Bustos has cared for athletes at all levels of competition, from recreational to professional, resulting in a patient-focused approach that aims to return each athlete to pre-injury level. His practice is characterized by personal care, convenient location and ease of access. His patients can reach him personally, even after hours.
A resident of the Memorial area, Dr. Bustos is married and the father of three sons. He is an avid cyclist and swimmer.
